Expand the Choices

Posted on September 7th, 2009 by admin  |  Comments Off

Alrighty did you Limit the Options?

If you did then good for you. That is a way to weed out custies that hem and haw and waste your time.

For any nay-sayers limiting the options this is standard business practice for sales and other industries. 20% of your customers are going to give you the majority of your income. No need to mess around with customers who are not serious about purchasing.

What do you do when you get customers who are interested and loyal? Expand their choices of course.

If they are spending money practically give them the world (within reason of course.)

Choices you can offer:

Hourly rate (If your club allows or the law allows it.)

Discount on multiple dances – I wouldn’t suggest going below the posted price but if you are able to up sell come down a little bit when a custy is respectful and spending money.

Add them to your address book – Text, email or call and chat now and then. You can get a separate pre-paid phone for this or a free online 800 voice-mail. This is especially good if you travel.

Get a little closer - Those who spend and tip well get treated well. There is nothing worse that giving you’re all to someone who expects a lot of attention for very little money. Don’t hope that they spend money because you went over the top for them. It should be the other way around. The money does the talking. Be firm in telling your customers that the dances get better the more that they spend. If they don’t like this policy it’s okay to move on. High maintenence is fine but you have to be paid for it.

Ask the DJ to skip your stage (if possible) – Once on a slow night a new DJ put me up on stage twice while I was dancing with the same customer! Not every club allows this and some clubs and or managers don’t mind if it is not a regular occurrence. Give your regulars undivided attention and let them know you pulled some strings for them to ensure they have fun.

These are just examples of things you can offer your regulars who spend, and you will make them feel special. Not everyone is worthy of your time so if you keep falling into this habit, try limiting the options and when you get some loyal regulars treat them like gold.

Limit the Options

Ah the Law of Scarcity. You see it everywhere. In relationships, in business, in strip clubs and oh yes in sales.

I say sales because that is what we do, we sell pleasure and sensuality.

During a so-called recession people like to be a little more selective and stretch their dollar. No harm in that, but that is only if you let them.

Don’t let them. Initially any way.

If you do not take their money someone else will whether it is another dancer, his bank, his wife, ex wife or kids, the golf course whatever.

When customers are presented with too many choices they will hem and haw, stall, and tell you come back later.

The newbie dancer doesn’t know that she should be able to get a dance right away. When a customer says come back later generally you shouldn’t.

That is giving a person too many options: They can sit and watch, they can talk to their friends, they can dance with you, or they can sit and talk with you, they can watch the show, they can go smoke a cigarette, or you can come back later.

Here are the only two options you should ever give a customer: A table or couch dance or the V.I.P.

If you have been sitting for a few songs (or more God forbid) and they tell you to come on back later, the chances of them buying a dance are close to zero. DON’T PLAY THEIR GAME.

It sounds innocent enough. They just walked in, they want to relax, they want to catch up with their buddies, sip their drink, watch the girls blah blah blah.

All those are, are excuses.

Girls who really know how to hustle can get a dance even when a guy walks in the door, surrounded by his peers and even after he has said no a few times.

If you have been dancing for awhile and keep hearing “come on back later.” it’s time to step up and not return. Tell them “Maybe some other time night.”

If you keep going back to them – all you will do is keep going back!

Limit the options on the initial meeting, and if more girls learn this the less and less you will hear it. If you’re a veteran lead by example and if you don’t already do it, try it.

For me on those crazy slow nights as of late I stuck to the plan – ONLY ASK A CUSTOMER ONCE. It worked. I still made money because I was not wearing myself down and wasting time on indecisive people.

It may seem rude at first but try it. I promise its works. If you’re not bold enough to do it the entire shift try it for an hour or so. Guys that go to strip clubs want the short cuts without all the options. Don’t be afraid to give them the short cuts and that is tour of the V.I.P!

Posted on July 22nd, 2009 by admin  |  7 Comments »

Yay!

Now I have TWO BLOGS on the stripping industry.

The intention of Stripper Hacks is all the little short cuts you can take to make more money, and keep more of what you make. It’s the stripper lifestyle, mantras, attitudes and ideals that make some strippers tick.

Check out the categories to see past articles from Ask a Stripper, and be on the look out for new money making ideas or maybe some older ones that keep working again, and again!

What’s a Hack?.

According to Websters – 3 a. To manage successfully. and, To be successful. (Can you hack it?)

There are all types of information in the stripping world that people are clinging to. Not surprising since the competition is fierceĀ  mainly between club owners in the U.S. adult entertainment industry. Why keep your head above water as a dancer when you could be making money hand over fist? Instead of competing with other girls and customers become the competition!

It’s really easy. If you love, love, love what you do you are going to want to learn the most that you can to keep on doing it and keeping it lucrative for You!

If you’re just beginning or thinking of becoming a stripper this can be the opportunity for you do decide if you can hack it as a stripper or not!

If you have questions or would like to contribute please use the Ask a Stripper contact form and put SH in the subject line.

Be on the look out for the Stripper Hacks book…it’s coming soon and this will be it’s official site for it’s launch.

Licensed to Strip

I’m not sure if a stripper union would help in a situation like this. Letting the government have their way now means they are going to get their way later too.

And what’s with that uber-cliche “don’t squeeze them” comment. Okay you’re not funny.

“GENESEE COUNTY, Michigan – The price of a lap dance could go up if a state lawmaker has his way and that could have an impact on one county industry.

State Sen. Ray Basham, D-Taylor, has proposed legislation that would allow local municipalities to require exotic dancers to pay a $250 yearly license fee for taking their clothes off.

FJ: This one is irresistible: A pole tax for dancers!

(OMG hahahahahahhaha!)

Genesee County is home to nine strip clubs, and the idea isn’t sitting well with some local dancers, who say they can’t afford it.

“Tip money is all I make, and sometimes I go home with no money,” said a Flint dancer who declined to give her name.”

Call me a bitch but if you are a stripper and you think $250 a year is a lot of money perhaps a career change is in order. That is less than $25 dollars a month for licensing!

I pay out more in two nights working at my club. Get a real job already.

How Old is Too Old?

“Society will tell you 30 is old. We already ditched the norm when we ignored society by taking our clothes off. Don’t let society dictate when we have to put them back on.” – PMB

Seriously if you take good care of yourself, look good and feel young why not?

Becoming a Stripper

Posted on April 25th, 2009 by admin  |  3 Comments »

Thinking of becoming a stripper? Three things you should know:

You Don’t Need to Know How to Dance
It’s true you will pick a lot of it up watching other dancers and putting your own twist on things.

Some strippers are graceful and some really sloppy but still make money. Sex appeal is what counts and if you take care of your body and mind you will be a successful stripper.

Mind you womens bodies were meant to move in strange, sexy and crazy ways so if you’ve always wanted to dance just jump right in.

What will help you: Running, ballet, yoga, rock climbing, Capoeira, martial arts, strength training with kettle bells.

Stripping IS and IS NOT Recession Proof
I’ve already worked through two recessions and this will be my third (someone stop me!) and what it all comes down to is how you manage your money.

On a bad day you can still make more than some people make in a week and that is no lie even in so-called times like these. I say that because I think hypothetical financial melt-downs are the best times to make money.

What you can do? Educate yourself about money! If you’re the Internet user type and I bet you are, find as much information as you can about finances. It’s not as hard as you think.

Places online I would recommend are Yahoo! Finance because it is written in English and there are good articles by Rich Dad dude Robert Kiyosaki, Ben Stein and David Bach. I like Suze Orman but I think she complicates things so don’t go thinking you’ll never live up to what she says because her financial expectations are very high for people. Not that you should settle for less with money but that is just my thoughts about her specifically.

One of the best books that saved my financial life is Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth. It’s law of attraction meets a philosophical finance guru. It is not complicated to read at all and gives you glimpse to changing your attitude towards money and think in a wealth oriented terms.

Get it and it will teach you how think with a wealth mind and show you specifically how to manage your money. No I’m not money wealthy at the moment (I am time wealthy) but my mind now has a direction to work towards.

Which brings us to:

Have a Goal

How will becoming a stripper help you?

What do you want to achieve and how becoming a stripper will get you there that much faster?

Pay for school? Pay off debt? Are you just dirt poor? Need a car or house? Got a drug habit? Pay for treatment instead! It’s way cheaper.

You’re ultimate goal should be to get in and get out but that comes later.

Think with the end in mind BEFORE you start dancing or you’ll end up as a career stripper like me, which isn’t a bad thing mind you. Lot’s of girl do it and it’s not about being sucked into a lifestyle. You don’t have to deal with office politics or a bunch of other crap. In most cases it makes life easier.

When I started I was just broke as a joke but becoming a stripper helped me mature in ways I’d never imagined. For me I just needed money. (Notice how I didn’t say JOB – Just Over Broke does anyone really need a job?) I worked a few years and then quit, had a career, quit that and came back and have been doing it steadily for the past five years. It is what I like to do. Do I have a goal in mind? Yes. Once I reach that goal will I quit dancing? Doubtful! :)

I’m having too much fun.

To set a goal all you have to do is know what you want. Pick one thing at a time and go for it.

Don’t bother thinking about how you’ll get from point A to point B. It will all fall into place.

Goals are a mindset and you need a good mindset! Places to look online are:

The Blog of Author Timothy Ferris
– He works and makes money and is the closest to a stripper lifestyle that I have seen set to real life. Well my mindset any how. If you know me well you know I’ve experimented with all sorts of crazy crap.

Life is supposed to be fun. Make money and vacation the rest of the time.

As I say when custys ask me what I do when I’m not the club: “Anything I want.”

Don’t know what you want? Let Tony Robbins help you: Goal Setting with Tony Robbins

Here is a book that I turn to for inspiration. Just open it up anywhere and start reading. If you’re in a money funk it will help you shift gears no matter what part of the book you read!
