Expand the Choices
Alrighty did you Limit the Options?
If you did then good for you. That is a way to weed out custies that hem and haw and waste your time.
For any nay-sayers limiting the options this is standard business practice for sales and other industries. 20% of your customers are going to give you the majority of your income. No need to mess around with customers who are not serious about purchasing.
What do you do when you get customers who are interested and loyal? Expand their choices of course.
If they are spending money practically give them the world (within reason of course.)
Choices you can offer:
Hourly rate (If your club allows or the law allows it.)
Discount on multiple dances – I wouldn’t suggest going below the posted price but if you are able to up sell come down a little bit when a custy is respectful and spending money.
Add them to your address book – Text, email or call and chat now and then. You can get a separate pre-paid phone for this or a free online 800 voice-mail. This is especially good if you travel.
Get a little closer - Those who spend and tip well get treated well. There is nothing worse that giving you’re all to someone who expects a lot of attention for very little money. Don’t hope that they spend money because you went over the top for them. It should be the other way around. The money does the talking. Be firm in telling your customers that the dances get better the more that they spend. If they don’t like this policy it’s okay to move on. High maintenence is fine but you have to be paid for it.
Ask the DJ to skip your stage (if possible) – Once on a slow night a new DJ put me up on stage twice while I was dancing with the same customer! Not every club allows this and some clubs and or managers don’t mind if it is not a regular occurrence. Give your regulars undivided attention and let them know you pulled some strings for them to ensure they have fun.
These are just examples of things you can offer your regulars who spend, and you will make them feel special. Not everyone is worthy of your time so if you keep falling into this habit, try limiting the options and when you get some loyal regulars treat them like gold.
