Ah the Law of Scarcity. You see it everywhere. In relationships, in business, in strip clubs and oh yes in sales.
I say sales because that is what we do, we sell pleasure and sensuality.
During a so-called recession people like to be a little more selective and stretch their dollar. No harm in that, but that is only if you let them.
Don’t let them. Initially any way.
If you do not take their money someone else will whether it is another dancer, his bank, his wife, ex wife or kids, the golf course whatever.
When customers are presented with too many choices they will hem and haw, stall, and tell you come back later.
The newbie dancer doesn’t know that she should be able to get a dance right away. When a customer says come back later generally you shouldn’t.
That is giving a person too many options: They can sit and watch, they can talk to their friends, they can dance with you, or they can sit and talk with you, they can watch the show, they can go smoke a cigarette, or you can come back later.
Here are the only two options you should ever give a customer: A table or couch dance or the V.I.P.
If you have been sitting for a few songs (or more God forbid) and they tell you to come on back later, the chances of them buying a dance are close to zero. DON’T PLAY THEIR GAME.
It sounds innocent enough. They just walked in, they want to relax, they want to catch up with their buddies, sip their drink, watch the girls blah blah blah.
All those are, are excuses.
Girls who really know how to hustle can get a dance even when a guy walks in the door, surrounded by his peers and even after he has said no a few times.
If you have been dancing for awhile and keep hearing “come on back later.” it’s time to step up and not return. Tell them “Maybe some other time night.”
If you keep going back to them – all you will do is keep going back!
Limit the options on the initial meeting, and if more girls learn this the less and less you will hear it. If you’re a veteran lead by example and if you don’t already do it, try it.
For me on those crazy slow nights as of late I stuck to the plan – ONLY ASK A CUSTOMER ONCE. It worked. I still made money because I was not wearing myself down and wasting time on indecisive people.
It may seem rude at first but try it. I promise its works. If you’re not bold enough to do it the entire shift try it for an hour or so. Guys that go to strip clubs want the short cuts without all the options. Don’t be afraid to give them the short cuts and that is tour of the V.I.P!
